EBD has served the education sector for over 100 years, starting as a humble Ferozpur bookshop in 1923. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming environment and offer one of the town's best coffee shops in town. Snehlata Prize

In commemoration of Snehlata’s enduring legacy and the positive influence she has imparted, we honour her leadership at The English Book Depot, established in 1923. She played a pivotal role in introducing generations of readers to the world of reading. The Prize is announced on July 24, which coincides with Snehlata’s birthday. The prize-giving ceremony is hosted by ScooNews at the Global Edfest in August every year. Kindly email us at LF@EBD.IN to share your story or nominate anyone.

Swati Roy 1st winner of the Prize

Swati Roy is an entrepreneur who cares deeply about children’s literature. She co-founded Eureka Books and the Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival. Her work has shifted from the media to children’s literature, demonstrating her commitment to fostering a love of reading in young people. Eureka! and Bookaroo have greatly influenced children’s literature in India, making books and reading more available and enjoyable for many communities.
