We understand you're interested in My Good School, an online school with a learning studio at The English Book Depot (EBD) in Dehradun. EBD has served the education sector for over 100 years, starting as a humble Ferozpur bookshop in 1923. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming environment and offer one of the town's best coffee shops to enhance your visit.
Young city dwellers are welcome to join us as interns and gain entrepreneurial experience, and prepare for the world!
Join us in celebrating Smt Snehlata, who served at The English Book Depot for over 55 years and is marking her remarkable 85-year career. Her inspirational leadership has made a significant impact on countless lives. Let us honour her legacy and the enduring influence she continues to have.
Vision: To recognise, celebrate and support individuals who have made extraordinary lifelong contributions to fostering a love for reading among primary school children in India, thereby nurturing a generation of informed and imaginative citizens.
Mission: To spotlight unsung heroes, inspire others to dedicate themselves to children's literacy, strengthen the ecosystem for children's literature and promote reading across India.
The award is announced annually on Smt Snehlata's birthday, 24th July. The ceremony is hosted at the ScooNews Global Ed-Fest in Jaipur in early August. The awardee is invited to Dehradun to honour the legacy and work of the distinguished lady, the longest-serving woman in the history of book retailing in India.
Swati Roy, a dynamic entrepreneur and passionate advocate for children's literature, co-founded Eureka Books and Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival. Her journey from media to children’s literature highlights her dedication to fostering a love for reading among young people. Eureka! and Bookaroo have significantly impacted India’s children’s literature scene, making books and reading more accessible and engaging for diverse communities.
