Nidar Sapne, Nayi Udaan

Metropolis Healthcare Limited’s Corporate Social Responsibility project aims to tackle child marriage and enhance the education and life skills of adolescent girls in 14 villages.  Key deliverables include training 5,000 girls in five essential life skills, establishing 120 Kishori Manches, and developing comprehensive action plans.  This six-month project, with a March 31, 2026, deadline, includes baseline and midline assessments.  Engaging 500 key influencers, such as Panchayat members and Asha workers, on a digital platform for monitoring and evaluation.  The project is being implemented in the aspirational Haridwar District of Uttarakhand, specifically in the villages near Bandarjud.

NITI Aayog's Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP)

NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP) is a flagship Indian government initiative launched in 2018 to rapidly transform 112 underdeveloped districts by focusing on Health & Nutrition, Education, Agriculture & Water Resources, Financial Inclusion & Skill Development, and Basic Infrastructure, using data-driven “delta rankings” to measure progress and spur competition for development in these regions, with NITI Aayog anchoring the program and collaborating with states and ministries. 


  • Location & Connectivity: It is located in the Roorkee tehsil and has the PIN code 247662. The village is situated near the boundary of the Rajaji National Park buffer zone, making it a gateway for wildlife enthusiasts.

    • Rural Experiences: Some resorts offer activities such as cycling to nearby Gujjar villages to experience local life.
    • Spiritual Proximity: The village is close enough to Haridwar.
  • Development: Beyond tourism, the village has seen small-scale industrial and vocational activities, including those of the Learning Forward India Foundation.
